2024 Runner Doc
Fall Creek 100 takes a tour of Fall Creek Falls, one of the biggest and most visited parks in Tennessee. All distances take a suspension bridge over Cane Creek Falls, go by Milikan's Overlook, take another suspension bridge over Piney Creek Falls, go by the overlook for the 256-foot namesake of the park (and within 40 yards of two more waterfalls), and finally spend 4 miles running right along the shoreline of Fall Creek Falls Lake.
It's a really wonderful park that's a lot of fun to run in. Pine forest; mossy, fern-lined tracks running along creeks; bridges; gentle, chill trail...it's really cool. We've included as much as we can on the course.

Course
Mild course with a lot less rocks and roots than is typical for the area. Leafy but mostly smooth underneath. Overall, it's a really chill and gentle park that runs pretty fast for a trail race.
Despite the park still suffering from the August 2023 tornado, the course this year still hits every major overlook, waterfall and view!

Cutoffs
Marathon and 50 Mile runners have no on-course cutoffs, only official finish time limits.
100 mile cutoffs begin at mile 76.5 and are shown in the chart

Awards

Two layers of steel flame-torched to mimic light on water for finishers.
Tig-welded for 1st places and DFL.

Marathon and 50 mile awards are transparent blue epoxy waterfalls.

Podium awards are gold, silver, bronze transparent epoxy waterfalls.

Crew
Crew can access the Start/Finish line, Upper Trailhead and Gilbert Gaul.
Park respectfully all all locations, please.

Pacers
Pacers are allowed for 100 milers only starting at mile 50. Pacers are only allowed to enter and exit the course at Upper Trailhead, Gilbert Gaul and the Start/Finish. One pacer at a time. No carrying items for your runner.

Drop Bags
Drop bags for 50s/100s will be kept at the Start/Finish area or Millikans Overlook aid station.

Dropping Down/DNF
100 mile runners who complete at least two loops can choose to drop down instead of a DNF. Finish time will be time of drop, not when mile 50 was crossed (if dropping later). DNF is assumed unless you tell the RD otherwise.
